Welcome to our blog.  Tips for traveling with a pet in the summer.  Hot outdoor temperatures increase greatly inside a car.  Plan trips so that you do not leave your pet in the car oven.  Recently, several parents left children in hot cars and they died.  Such an awful event. 

Pets with their fur suffer greatly.  Since pets are not allowed in most stores and resturants, leave them at home.  If you are on a long trip use a travel crate to pen the pet outside of the car.  Always have a good ID on the collar.  I now use my cell number as a can be reached.

Blog ID: 1921 - My Parrot Buster - 2008-08-19

My dear parrot Buster is now spending time with my grandchildren in Indianapolis.  The dear pet spent vacation with the kids.  Jada, Jake and Elanie love Buster.  She is a blue front Amazon and I was nervous about how she would do with them.

How foolish of me!  Buster is the hit and loves all of the attention she gets from the family.   She takes baths with the kids.  They take her around the house and play house with her.

Buster loves to eat.  The blue front Amazon bird is a member of a flock in the wild.  She eats when the kids eat.  She eats what the kids eat!  She loves all kinds of food peanut butter and jelly is about her favorite!

I was lending her to the kids for 10 days.  They think that I gave Buster to them.  They tanked me over and over for the gift of the bird.  So I left Buster with them for the time being.

If they get tired of Buster, I can pick her up any time.  I know Buster is happy with all of the attention as Charles and I sometimes (ok frequently) did not play house with her, shower with her and give her enough time.

I miss Buster saying, "Hello" and "Bye, bye".  Sometimes I call out, "Hello Buster" and realize she is not there.

This is a bird expected to live 40 plus years.  She is already 20 years old.  She is very healty and will probably out live me.  At least I know she is well cared for and happy.

I am not in the market for any more birds ever.  I rescued Buster and now I will only rescue four legged pets.

I sell bird toys on ebay and know the joy the toys bring a bird.

Had to leave my dear dog Coco for 10 days because the beach house did not allow pets.  Some times vacations seem longer when waiting for it.  But then it goes by so fast.

Was so happy to see Coco!

We were camping last week for the Fourth of July. My dog Coco Puff Clute Poodle was with us.
She is 10 years old and still a puppy. She has fun every day. She plays ball every day. She demands lots of pets every day.
When my dog became 10, it makes aware of the fact that most of her days are gone. I am 64 and most of my days are gone.
I am following Tim Russart's idea-a day without fun is a wasted day.
I am having fun blogging and ebaying. I am having fun doing all of the things that I can fit into a day!

New CBS reality show for dogs!! What will they think of next?  The Great American Dog show is onThursdays beginning July 10th at 8:00 pm.

I guess that I will have to watch it once with my dog who was left out of the show.

My dog Coco Puff Clute Poodle is a great American dog even if she is not on the show.
